Emerging from Winnipeg’s tight-knit indie scene, Derksen has become one of Canada’s most distinctive voices, blending folk, country, and indie into a sound that defies easy categorization. An observer of the subtle and the mundane, his songs create a quiet escape out of the noise of everyday life. Now living in Montreal, his work has earned national recognition, including a finalist spot in SiriusXM’s Top of the Country and Emerging Artist of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards.
